What works at Chinese New Year.
CNY 2027 booking deadlines — FAQ.
When is Chinese New Year 2027?
Lunar New Year’s Day 2027 is Saturday 6 February. In Hong Kong the public holidays are 6, 8 and 9 February; the 9th is a substitute holiday because the second day falls on a Sunday.
When should I book Chinese New Year 2027 advertising in Hong Kong?
According to Hypertree’s 2026 booking windows, for a 1 February go-live book iconic LED, MTR takeovers and airport media by 9 November 2026, tram wraps and TV by 7 December, bus wraps by 21 December, and MTR lightboxes, shelters, minibus, taxi and KOL by 4 January 2027. For an 18 January go-live, book two weeks earlier.
I missed the deadline for premium sites. What can I still book?
Lift-lobby TV (about 2 weeks), programmatic DOOH (days), MTR lightboxes, bus shelters, minibus, taxi and KOL (about 4 weeks). These can still make a strong holiday campaign.
How much does a Chinese New Year campaign cost in Hong Kong?
A local campaign can start at about HK$50,000. A district push with bus wraps and DOOH runs about HK$100,000–170,000, and a citywide campaign with iconic LED starts around HK$500,000. Peak-season inventory books at the top of the rate-card range.
Should my campaign run past Lunar New Year’s Day?
Usually yes. Valentine’s Day (14 Feb) and the Lantern Festival (20 Feb) fall in the following two weeks, so extending to about 20 February covers all three occasions for little extra cost.
